Pick Your Own Raspberries and Sugar Snap Peas this week and next. The raspberry bushes are loaded with ripe berries and the Sugar Snap Peas are heavy on the vines. You can fill a quart container in a few minutes. There’s a great view from the raspberry area and usually a cooling breeze. For the freshest, naturally grown produce (no pesticides or chemical fertilizers on our vegetables), always think of Valley Crest. Everything’s at our Orchard location (14 Allerton Road), open 9am to 4pm on weekdays. There’s generally a friendly farm staffer (Kim, Peter or Jake) available if you need assistance.
We made our first delivery of fresh produce this week to the Flemington Food Pantry. The donation included delicious radishes and arugula planted and harvested by our vegetable grower, Kim Dalton. While we will continue to donate fresh apples and peaches during season, this vegetable donation is significant since it emphasizes our new commitment to an (almost) full line of vegetables! Be sure to stop by our Farmer’s Market GRAND OPENING on July 8th from 10-2 at the ORCHARDS location (14 Allerton Road) where we’ll have tons of wholesome, naturally-grown veggies, local honey, blueberries and more. The July 8 opening will also feature activities for children, face painting, orchard tours and honeybee demonstrations.
