Merit Badge Days are offered monthly at Valley Crest Farm and Preserve. These sessions are open to all Boy Scouts. Scouts may sign up individually or with others from their troop.

Merit Badge Days are designed for scouts to complete merit badges with minimal home study. Scouts will work one- on- one with a counselor to complete all requirements and gain a thorough understanding of each topic discussed.

Scouts may complete their prerequisite project before or after class. This prerequisite is described below, as copied from the Merit Badge requirements:

d. Design and construct a wildlife blind near a game trail, water hole, salt lick, bird feeder, or birdbath and take good photographs or make sketches from the blind of any combination of 10 wild birds, mammals, reptiles, or amphibians.

This proof should include...

  • Photographs of the completed project
  • Photographs of the project BEFORE completion (in the construction phase) for options “a” or “b”, and for option “c” if relevant

If scouts DO NOT complete the prerequisite project ahead of the workshop, they can make arrangements with the counselor upon completion of their project to present the above proof of completion and have their blue card signed.
