- Eco-Classes at Valley Crest Farm & Preserve
From May 11 to July 27, see schedule for days and times
Valley Crest Farm & Preserve offers six different fun-filled eco-courses for children and teens,
many of which fulfill badge requirements for scouts.
All classes are taught by environmental educators.
The fee for these two-hour classes is $5.00 per person to cover materials (except Stream Safari which is offered at no-charge).
Registration is mandatory. Class size is limited so please register early.

Stream Safari - free of charge, ages 7-12
A popular two-hour aquatic ecology class guided by an Americorps Watershed Ambassador
who will help the children explore the farm’s spring-fed stream and learn about all the fascinating creatures who live there
and why they’re vital to our ecosystem.
Eco-Woods Adventure on the Farm - ages 7-12
Kids will discover the forester inside them as they work together to identify trees, learn about endangered wildlife and
create their own ecosystems with a take-home terrarium.
Geocaching Treasure Hunt - ages 8-15
In a real-world, outdoor game, children and teens
use a GPS, map, and compass to explore the farm’s orchards and hike its wooded trails
in search of hidden caches, while learning more about our natural world and how to navigate using map skills.
Nature in the Arts - ages 8-14
Two short courses on printmaking and paper sculpture.
Printmaking - Venture into the farm’s woods and collect leaves, sticks, flowers and other natural objects
to create unique homemade stamps to design original artwork.
Paper Sculpture - Learn to make beautiful 3-D naturally dyed one-of-a-kind paper flowers that turn into wall sculptures to take home or give as gifts.
Beezbuzz: The Magic of Pollination -
Insect lovers and future scientists explore the relationship between plants and pollinators,
explore the anatomy of flowers and learn more about bees, nature’s greatest pollinator,
and what a picnic without pollinators would be like!
- Saturdays on the Farm
July - October: 1st Saturday of every month, 11:00 am - 4:30 pm
Come on down to Valley Crest’s Educational Mini Farm on the first Saturday
of every month for a day on the farm!
We’ll have scavenger hunts, tastings, garden crafts, and contests, as well as fun,
educational activities for kids and grownups alike. No two Saturdays are alike.
