Scout Camping Area
A camping area is available to scout groups year round. The campsite is located about 1000 feet to the north of the public trail entrance on Valley Crest Road, at the north edge of an 8 acre field and surrounded by 12 acres of mature woodlands and 65 acres of neighboring property woods. There is an assembly area with a flag pole and parking for up to ten vehicles, a fire ring with log seating for more than twenty and picnic tables at the edge of the field. Tent campsites are in the adjacent woods which can accommodate at least 10 tents. A lean-to shed is also available for sleeping. Public hiking trails are available nearby. Firewood for the campsite may be purchased at the 14 Allerton Road entrance or you are free to bring your own.
There is an orienteering course at the camp site, pick your own apples at the farm in the fall, and outdoor and indoor classrooms at the main farm barn at 14 Allerton Road. Educational day and evening programs and merit badge counseling can be arranged with Valley Crest Preserve. For fees and reservations email firstname.lastname@example.org
